These first two were taken at Lake Burley Griffin in the middle of Canberra. The kids thought the fountain was the coolest thing! You can't tell from the pictures but it shoots WAY up there.

This is the national monument near Parliament. Speaking of which the Parliament building is very interesting; aside from the uniqueness of the building itself, it was built into the side of a hill (we'll try to get some pictures of it to post). It's kind of cool here; you can't build on top of hills which really protects the natural beauty of the area.
And this is the national seal found on their coinage; In case you can't tell it's a kangaroo and emu.
I can't wait to get more pictures of road signs and do a whole post about that!!!

That sounds like fun. I bet you could teach the kids a lot of new stuff just by wandering around your city!
Yeah we're hoping to get an apartment in the city once we're done housesitting here so that we can do more of that. As it is now most our sightseeing is reserved for Saturdays when Jeff is not working. We have done some plant identification and during the week though ;).
